Douglas Fir
Pseudotsuga menziesli - good fragrance; holds blue to dark green; 1" to 1.5" needles; needles have one of the best aromas among Christmas trees when crushed; named after David Douglas who studied the ree in the 1800's; good conical shape; can live for a thousand years

Noble Fir
Abies procera - one inch long, bluish-green needles with a silvery appearance; has short, stiff branches; great for heavier ornaments; keeps well; is used to make wreaths, door swags, and garlands

Nordmann Fir
Abies nordmanniana - popular throughout Europe, and is quickly becoming a favorite in America; attractive foliage; needles are not sharp and do not drop easily when tree dries out; the Nordmann has become a favorite choice for families with allergies or with sensitivities to aroma because the Nordmann lacks fragrance
